Inter-school futsal competition from Wednesday

KATHMANDU:- The 5th Valley Public Inter-School Futsal Tournament, organized by Valley Public High School, is set to begin on Wednesday.

Sunita Bista Adhikari, co-founder of Valley Public, announced at a press conference held on Tuesday that 58 teams would participate across three different categories in the tournament.

Twenty-six teams will participate in the U-16 Senior Boys’ category, 16 in the U-16 Senior Girls’ category, and 16 in the U-12 Junior Boys’ category. This marks the first time the tournament is being organized based on age groups; previously, competitions were held based on the students’ grade levels.

Organized with technical support from NextSports, the tournament will award a cash prize of 15,000 to the winner and 10,000 to the runner-up. Awards will also be presented to the best player, the top scorer, and the best goalkeeper.

Mahesh Adhikari, Head of Administration at Valley Public, stated that the competition is estimated to cost approximately Rs 325,250. The matches, scheduled to run until Shrawan 19, will be held at the organizer’s own hall in Bhangal.

A committee led by Ajay Basnet, the ECA/CCA In-charge at Valley Public, has been formed to ensure the successful conduct of the competition.
