NPL 2025: Two matches to be played today

KATHMANDU:- Two matches are being played today under the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025, a franchise-based Twenty20 cricket tournament underway in the capital. The first match will start at 11:45 and the second match at 4:00 pm at the Tribhuvan University (TU) International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Lumbini Lions will face Sudurpaschim Royals in the first match while Janakpur Bolts will take on Pokhara Avengers in the second match of the day to be played under floodlights.

Lumbini, led by Rohit Kumar Poudel, also captain of the national cricket team, has so far won only one of its three matches. Hence, it remains in the sixth position in the points table. Meanwhile, Sudurpaschim led by Dipendra Singh Airee is at the top of the points table with three consecutive wins.

Likewise, defending champions Janakpur Bolts is led by Anil Shah and will look forward to collecting its first point of the tournament, as it has lost both the matches it played so far. Led by Kushal Bhurtel, Pokhara Avengers also remain at the bottom of the points table with two losses in two matches. (RSS)
