CIAA files case against eight including CAO

KATHMANDU:- The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a chargesheet against eight people, including the then Chief Administrative Officer of Tripurasundari Municipality in Dolpa, at the special court today.

The CIAA filed a chargesheet against the then Acting Chief Administrative Officer of Tripurasundari Municipality Lal Prasad Pokharel, Engineer Karna Bahadur Karki, Administrative Officer Hirachandra Dharala, Education Officer Bhim Bahadur Thapa, Senior Accounts Assistant Rupchandra Budha and MIS Operator Harichandra Bista.

The chargesheet was filed on charges of irregularities committed in upgrading the road from Khadang to Lha in Ward No. 5 of the municipality in the fiscal year 2078/79, said Rajendra Kumar Poudel, spokesperson of the Commission.

Shishir Kumar Gurung, a member of the bid evaluation committee involved in the evaluation of the project’s procurement process and the project’s engineer, Divyanirman Sewa Pvt. Ltd. Dunai Dolpa, and Bhimraj Neupane of the construction company have also been named as defendants in the chargesheet.

A fine of Rs. 5,589,063 has sought from the accused for the offence committed under Section 17 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 BS. (RSS)
