Water level in Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers below alert mark, but precaution advised
KATHMANDU:- Even though the water level and flow in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers is below the alert level, people are advised to adopt high alertness.
The Flood Forecasting Division of the Centre of Hydrology and Water Resources Research said that after the flood in Bhotekoshi on August 26, the river flow is low, but people are still advised to remain alert.
The Division stated in its flood forecast bulletin issued here today that there is a medium risk of flash flood as the flow of small rivers is likely to significantly rise in Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Dhading, Gorkha, Lamjung, and Dolpa and surrounding districts.
Similarly, the Division forecasted that the flow of small rivers in districts like Rukum East, Rukum West, Jajarkot, Darchula, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Doti, Kailali, and Kanchanpur will increase significantly, with a medium risk of sudden flooding. Also, the flow of small rivers in Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts is expected to increase significantly, with a high possibility of sudden floods.(RSS)
