Chance of rain in most parts of the country today
KATHMANDU:- The influence of monsoon winds currently prevails across the country. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon low-pressure trough has shifted slightly south of its average position.
At present, the weather is generally cloudy across most parts of the country. Moderate rainfall is occurring in some areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, has been recorded in a few places across Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
The weather across the country will remain generally cloudy throughout the day on Monday. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some places within the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Moderate rain and snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, may occur in a few places across the mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The Weather Division has reported a likelihood of light to moderate rain and snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in some hilly areas of the country. Moderate rainfall is forecast for some locations in the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Rain accompanied by lightning is also expected in a few places across the Terai areas of Madhesh and Koshi provinces.
There is a risk of heavy rainfall in one or two places across the hilly regions of Koshi and Karnali provinces. The Department has urged everyone to exercise necessary caution, as there is also a possibility of heavy rain in a few locations across the hilly and Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
