California-produced films and television secured 25 Emmy nominations
LOS ANGELES:- Nominations for the 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced. Among them, *The Pit*—which benefited from California’s film and television tax credit program—has secured 25 Emmy nominations.
Eleven projects benefiting from California state government tax incentives have secured a total of 79 nominations. This highlights California’s continued leadership as a premier global destination for film and television production.
“The Pit” has received recognition across various categories, including nominations for Outstanding Drama Series as well as for the performances of Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa.
The comprehensive list of nominations for tax-incentivized projects spans categories such as drama, comedy, variety, production design, cinematography, costume design, music, and stunt coordination; this reflects the unparalleled depth of talent and the breadth of production activity in California.
Among the 11 projects receiving ‘film and TV tax credits’ that were nominated for Emmy Awards this year, HBO Max’s *The Pitt*—an outstanding drama series—earned nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor (Noah Wyle) and Outstanding Supporting Actress (Taylor Dearden).
Additionally, Amazon Prime Video’s *Spider-Noir*—a series based on a historical or fantasy narrative—received nominations in the categories of Outstanding Production Design, Outstanding Cinematography, and Outstanding Title Design.
*Fallout* (Amazon Prime Video) has received nominations for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Period or Fantasy Program (One Hour or More), Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, and Outstanding Emerging Media Program.
Additionally, nominations have been secured in categories including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Elle Fanning), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Michelle Pfeiffer), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Zendaya), Outstanding Cinematography, and Outstanding Production Design.
Additionally, nominations include categories such as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Julianne Nicholson), Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, Outstanding Production Design, Outstanding Variety Special, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Lisa Kudrow), and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Other nominated categories include Outstanding Hairstyling, Outstanding Makeup, and Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.
The 78th Emmy Awards will be held on September 14 at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.
