Army deployed in various areas of Dhanusha along with curfew order
JANAKPUR:- Taking into account the security situation in various parts of Dhanusha, the local administration has issued an indefinite curfew order effective from 3:30 PM on Thursday.
According to a notice issued by Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luitel of the District Administration Office, Dhanusha, the curfew applies within designated boundaries and will remain in effect until further notice.
According to the administration, a curfew has been imposed in the following areas: to the east, from the petrol pump located 500 meters east of the Belauni Road-MQ Steel junction (along the Hulaki Road) up to the National Primary School, and extending to Laxmipur Bageva; to the west, along the route covering Sinurjoda-Sohni-Manimandap-Nepal Nursery-ISKCON Janakpur-Dudhmati Bridge-Bela-Qadri Mosque, and from Laxminiya Haat Bazaar Chowk (Laxminiya Rural Municipality-7) to Sinurjoda Chowk; and to the south, covering the area from Nagarain Municipality to the vicinity of Nagarain Chowk.
A request has been made to mobilize the Nepali Army’s Bishnudal Battalion (Mahendranagar Barracks)—in accordance with Section 6, Sub-sections 1(a) and 2 of the Local Administration Act, 2028—to strengthen peace and security and bring the situation under control in the designated area.
The District Administration Office, Dhanusha, has stated that the Nepali Army has been authorized to use force—up to and including opening fire—using the minimum necessary military force, as required to maintain control over the peace and security situation during the operation.
