Gen Z representatives want political parties to take part in March 5 HoR election

KATHMANDU:- Representatives of the Gen Z protest have called on all political parties to participate in the House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5, 2026.

Speaking to the media following a meeting with the Prime Minister and members of the Council of Ministers at the Office of the President today, they expressed strong belief that all political parties would take part in the elections and make the most of the opportunity.

Describing the election as a democratic process, Gen Z representative Miraj Dhungana stated that elections are a means of electing the people’s representatives. He expressed hope that the elections would be conducted in a free, fair, and impartial manner.

He urged all political parties to engage in the electoral process and take part in fair competition. “A new force may emerge from the election,” he added. Dhungana also stressed that those who played a significant role in elevating the street movement should be included in the current Council of Ministers.

On Friday, President Ramchandra Paudel convened a meeting with leaders of political parties, including representatives from the dissolved parliament and the government, to discuss the upcoming elections.

During the meeting, political parties demanded guarantees of peace and security for the elections, while the government urged all parties to participate in the elections.(RSS)
