Maaf Inter-School Basketball Tournament from Friday
KATHMANDU:-The 8th MAF Inter-School Basketball Tournament, organized by the Mutual Academic Activities Forum (MAF), is set to begin on Friday.
Speaking at a press conference held on Wednesday, Chhatramani Rai—a MAF member and the Principal of Golden Peak High School—announced that 44 teams across three categories would participate in the tournament. Teams will compete in the Senior Boys (15 teams), Girls (16 teams), and Junior Boys (13 teams) categories.
Participating teams across all three categories will be divided into four groups, and matches will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
The tournament, organized and managed by Golden Peak, will feature teams exclusively from schools affiliated with MAF; there are 16 schools affiliated with the association.
Principal Rai stated that the primary objective of the tournament is to develop, expand, and promote basketball at the school level, as well as to identify talented players, enhance their skills, and foster their interest in the sport.
In accordance with its annual program, MAF has been organizing competitions for various extracurricular activities, including basketball, volleyball, and futsal. The matches will be held at Golden Peak’s own court in Saraswatinagar, Ward No. 6 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
