Shekhar Koirala to address Nepali Congress non-establishment faction national gathering
KATHMANDU:- Leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala is set to participate in the gathering of the Nepali Congress faction opposed to the party establishment, led by Dr. Shashank Koirala.
Rejecting the working committee led by Gagan Thapa, the Nepali Congress faction led by Shashank Koirala has organized a gathering in Kathmandu on the 29th.
Leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has confirmed his participation in the national gathering. Although he had not appeared at meetings held at the liaison office of the Nepali Congress’s non-establishment faction—led by Dr. Shashank Koirala—in Chundevi, Dr. Koirala is now set to address this gathering.
Leader Koirala has been playing a centrist role amidst the party’s internal disputes. The non-establishment faction of the Nepali Congress has organized this gathering under the coordination of Dr. Shashank Koirala.
Former Nepali Congress President Deuba is also scheduled to address the gathering. This faction is buoyed after receiving a favorable response from the Supreme Court regarding the dispute over official legitimacy. With the court ordering a review of the verdict, the possibility of a party split has been averted for the time being.
