‘Rodhi Ghar’ with Nepali food and musical performances opens in Tokyo
TOKYO:- “Chandani Restaurant and Rodhi Ghar” has opened in the Shinjuku-Okubo area of Tokyo, Japan, with the aim of promoting Nepali art, culture, and cuisine.
Established with an investment of approximately 30 million yen, the Rodhi Ghar is operated through the active involvement of Nepali youths. Its management team includes Prakash Shrestha and Moti Gurung, among others.
According to Prakash Shrestha, one of the operators, the ‘Rodhi Ghar’ was established with the aim of providing Nepalis living in Japan with the taste of their hometowns, a cultural atmosphere, and entertainment—all in one place. He stated that the goal is to evoke a sense of Nepali identity while abroad through authentic cuisine, warm hospitality, and regular musical programs.
The inauguration of the Rodhi Ghar is being celebrated with a week-long program running from July 19 to 26. Special musical and cultural performances have been organized daily at 4 PM throughout this period.
Artists such as folk-duet (*Lok Dohori*) singer Kajal Gurung, as well as singers Surya Khadka and Sabin Gurung, are delivering live performances at the inauguration event.
According to the organizers, such programs are expected to provide entertainment to the Nepali community in Japan while also helping to preserve Nepali culture.
