Nepali Embassy to screen Nepali films in New Delhi throughout July
NEW DELHI:- The Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi is set to screen Nepali films throughout the month of July. The Embassy stated that it has launched this initiative with the aim of promoting Nepali cinema, language, art, culture, and artists.
Under this program, a Nepali film will be screened every week, and arrangements have been made to invite the respective film’s actors, directors, and filmmakers to interact with the audience.
Actress Bipana Thapa was also honored on Tuesday during the program’s inauguration. She was recognized in appreciation of her unparalleled contribution to the Nepali film industry.
Actress Thapa stated that the embassy launched this campaign with the objectives of showcasing Nepali cinema on the international stage, bringing the Nepali community in India closer to their language, art, and culture, and contributing to the development of the Nepali film industry.
“I view this initiative by the embassy very positively,” Bipana said. “Such programs will help establish a new identity for the Nepali film industry on the international stage.” The event will also feature discussions on the history, current state, and potential of Nepali cinema.
The film *Eklo*, starring Pradeep Khadka, will be screened at the event next Friday. Following that, the film *Gunyucholo*, starring Nazir Hussain, will be shown. Artists are also set to participate in the program; invitations have already been extended to them.
