Noted actor Sunil Thapa passes away at 68

KATHMANDU:- Veteran actor Sunil Thapa has passed away at the age of 68. He died of a heart attack, the Film Artists Association president Mohan Niraula confirmed.

Thapa was found unconscious in his sleep and was rushed to Norvic Hospital in Thapathali, where he was declared dead after a preliminary examination.

He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter, who are reportedly traveling from Mumbai, India, where they reside. Thapa had been living in Shankhamul, Kathmandu.

The late actor was renowned in both Nepali and Indian cinema. He gained widespread popularity for his role as ‘Rate Kainla’ in a Nepali film and also played the coach of actress Priyanka Chopra in the biopic on Indian boxing champion Mary Kom.
