KATHMANDU:- The country at present is under the influence of an upper-level western trough and local wind systems, resulting in generally cloudy conditions throughout the country today, the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology mentioned.
The Department stated that most of the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces are generally cloudy at present, and the Tarai regions are partly cloudy.
Likewise, moderate rainfall is happening in some parts of Lumbini, and in one or two places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly and Himalayan regions in the country and some parts of Koshi and Madhesh provinces.
The Department added that one or two places in the Tarai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces are likely to receive rainfall, according to the Department.
Later tonight, generally cloudy conditions are likely in Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces as well as the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, while partly cloudy conditions are likely in the remaining Tarai regions.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi and Madhesh provinces as well as the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, and at one or two places in the Tarai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, the weather service stated.
