Landslides Block Prithvi Highway at Phisling, Traffic Restoration Underway

CHITWAN:- Vehicular movement along a section of the Prithvi Highway has been disrupted after landslides struck Panidhara and Chumkhola in Phisling of Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-2 early Monday morning.

The landslides occurred at around 2:20 am, completely blocking the highway and halting traffic in the affected section.

Chief of the District Police Office, Chitwan, Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Poudel, said efforts are underway to clear the debris, with authorities aiming to restore traffic by around 9:00 am.

The latest disruption comes after local authorities suspended vehicular movement on the Narayangadh–Muglin road section and the Prithvi Highway from 10:00 pm on Sunday due to the heightened risk of landslides and other rain-induced disasters during the ongoing monsoon.

Officials said the roads will be reopened once the landslide debris is removed and travel is considered safe.

Meanwhile, traffic heading towards Pokhara via the Narayangadh–Muglin road has not been affected by the obstruction.
