Vehicles restricted along river corridors in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU:- The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRMA) has called for restricting vehicular movement on the road (corridor roads) along the bank of streams and rivers in the Kathmandu Valley for 12 hours starting from 6:00 pm today.

Issuing a notice today, the Authority urged the three district administration offices of Kathmandu Valley not to allow the movement of vehicles along the river corridor roads, citing heavy to very heavy rainfall is taking place at different places of the country including Kathmandu Valley.

The Authority has requested all to stay alert, saying there is possibility of risk of inundation of roads along riverside as water level in rivers and streams would further rise in the night.(RSS)
