First successful summit of Chhuama mountain in Mustang

MUSTNAG:- An eight-member mountaineering team, including three mountaineers from South Korea, successfully climbed Chhuama mountain. Located at an altitude of 6213 meters, they scaled the mountain on November 2, according to the National Trust for Nature Conservation, Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Lomanthang.

Chhuama mountain in Upper Mustang has to be climbed from Namdo village in Lomanthang Rural Municipality-4 via the 5480-meter-high Chuama base camp. Five Nepali tourist guides, including South Korean mountaineers Dongjin, Namyong and Hnichul, successfully climbed Chhuama mountain via the Chuama base camp, informed Umesh Poudel, Office Chief of ACAP Lomanthang.

The Korean team returned to Lomanthang after climbing the third peak of the three Chuama peaks in Upper Mustang for the first time. The mountaineering team reached the Chuama peak after 10 hours from the Chuma base camp at 2:00 am on November 2. ACAP Chief Poudel said that the mountaineering of the Chuama Himal for the first time will greatly contribute to the promotion of tourism and mountaineering in Upper Mustang.
