UML registers party for proportional representation electoral system

KATHMANDU:- The CPN (UML) has officially registered its party with the Election Commission to take part in the proportional representation (PR) electoral system under the House of Representatives (HoR) elections today.

UML Central Election Department chief Niraj Acharya, visited the Commission’s office at Kantipath and met with Acting Chief Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari and other officials to submit the party registration application for PR electoral system.

The Commission had initiated the programme for the PR electoral system since last Saturday.

In order to register the party under the  system, the Commission has solicited applications from the political parties intending to participate in the PR electoral system by 4:00 pm December 9. (RSS)
