UAE pardons 111 Nepali nationals on Eid al-Adha

UAE:- The Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has granted a royal amnesty to 111 Nepali citizens serving sentences in various correctional facilities on the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Adha 2026.

In an official press release issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its profound gratitude and high appreciation to the UAE government for this deeply humanitarian and benevolent gesture.

The breakthrough decision follows sustained diplomatic representations and formal requests made by the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, acting under the direct guidance and coordinated directives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry, the pardoned Nepali nationals will be eligible for immediate repatriation to Nepal, provided they do not face any separate outstanding legal disputes, pending charges, or active travel bans.

The Nepali embassy is currently working to complete the necessary administrative and legal procedures in compliance with prevailing UAE laws to facilitate their smooth return home.

Against the backdrop of steadily deepening bilateral ties, this significant amnesty is being hailed as a momentous symbol of goodwill and enduring friendship between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates.
