Tragic death of ‘The Ring’ actress Daveigh Chase on the streets due to HIV AIDS

Hernandez told the media that she died from meningitis and sepsis; however, the Los Angeles Coroner's Office declared that her death was caused by an HIV/AIDS infection. Nevertheless, the coroner also noted drug abuse as a contributing factor in her death.

LOS ANGELES:- Actress Daveigh Chase passed away last month at the age of 35 following a battle with a severe illness resulting from an HIV/AIDS infection.

Her mother, Kathy Chase, filed a petition with the Los Angeles Superior Court on July 8 to become the administrator of her daughter’s estate.

According to documents, she stated that her late daughter held assets worth $400,000 (£299,500) at the time of her death on June 16.

In the details submitted to the court, she noted that although Davy was “homeless,” she passed away in Los Angeles, and her address was listed as Chatsworth, California. A hearing regarding this matter is scheduled for August 12 at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

According to her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, Daveigh Chase had been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital two weeks earlier due to malnutrition.

Hernandez told the media that she died from meningitis and sepsis; however, the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office declared that her death was caused by an HIV/AIDS infection. Nevertheless, the coroner also noted drug abuse as a contributing factor in her death.

Devi’s father told The New York Times that she had been struggling with drug addiction since the age of 13. He said that he had not spoken to his daughter for years.

She stopped acting in 2016; Roy had stated that she was “threatened” and left “homeless” following a dispute with her family.

Daveigh voiced Lilo in the 2002 Disney animated film *Lilo & Stitch*. This was her first major film role, and its success led her to provide voice work for television shows as well.

She also voiced the character Chihiro Ogino in the 2001 fantasy film *Spirited Away*. Daveigh became widely known among horror movie fans after playing the role of Samara Morgan in the 2002 film *The Ring*.

Her outstanding performance and chilling portrayal earned her the Best Villain award at the MTV Movie Awards. Actress Daveigh Chase appeared as Rhonda Volmer across five seasons of the HBO series *Big Love*. Her other projects include *Donnie Darko*, *Beethoven’s 5th*, *Sabrina the Teenage Witch*, *ER*, and *Mercy*.
Despite the success achieved in her acting career, Davig’s upbringing was difficult—details of which have been elaborated upon in a GoFundMe campaign launched by her partner.
Roy writes about actress Daveigh Chase: “Behind the scenes, she faced more than her fair share of hardships. After a difficult childhood and a painful relationship with her family, Daveigh was threatened and struggled on the streets of downtown LA. When we met, I tried to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together, we found moments of happiness and hope.”
