There is no alternative to the Congress remaining united: Shekhar Koirala
KATHMANDU:- Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has stated that he is prepared to make the necessary sacrifices to maintain unity within the party.
During a meeting with party General Secretary Gagan Thapa on Sunday, Koirala noted that the country, democracy, and national sovereignty are facing a difficult situation, and expressed the view that there is no alternative to the Congress remaining united.
“Stating that there is no alternative to party unity, he made it clear that he is prepared to make any sacrifice necessary on his part to achieve it,” Koirala’s secretariat said while providing details about the meeting.
The secretariat also reported that President Thapa expressed his support for party unity. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the internal issues facing the Congress party and potential ways to resolve them.
Similarly, it has been reported that discussions were also held regarding the situation in the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading—affected by the recent floods—and the work required in the affected areas.
