Sanskriti and Tejaswi advance to semifinals of inter-school futsal competition
KATHMANDU:- Hosts Sanskriti Shiksha Sadan and Tejaswi Academy advanced to the semi-finals of the senior girls’ category at the 10th TOPS Inter-School Futsal Tournament on Monday.
In the tournament, held as part of the annual program of the Team of Progressive Schools (TOPS), Sanskriti defeated Nimbal Academy 1–0, while Tejaswi beat Pascal International Academy 1–0.
In the Senior Girls’ category of the ongoing tournament hosted by Sanskriti School in Lolang, Tarkeshwor Municipality, Edify International School defeated Kathmandu Little Blossoms 2–0, and Landmark Academy beat Belmont International School 2–0, thereby securing their spots in the semi-finals.
Bharatmani Pokharel, President of TOPS, inaugurated the competition at a special event. Matches for the junior boys’ category are scheduled for the second day, Tuesday.
President Pokharel expressed his belief that the competition would make a significant contribution to fostering a sports culture at the school level, promoting discipline and healthy competition, and identifying and encouraging new sporting talent.
Rabi KC, the Managing Director of Sanskriti Shiksha Sadan, stated that such school-level competitions play a significant role in the all-round development of students.
Prakash Neupane, Coordinator of Sanskriti Shiksha Sadan, expressed his gratitude to the TOPS family, participating schools, players, coaches, judges, teachers, volunteers, and all supporters for helping make the competition a success. The competition features events in the Senior Boys, Junior Boys, and Senior Girls categories.
