LOS ANGLES:- The International Committee of the United Nepali Diaspora Organization (UNDO) has appointed Rajesh Pandey, a prominent entrepreneur of Nepali origin, as the President of UNDO USA. Like the NRNA, UNDO is a social organization registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Nepal as of January 31, 2024.

Its chief patron is Shesh Ghale—a former NRNA president and a globally renowned Australian entrepreneur—while Sonam Lama serves as the International President. President Lama is also a well-known entrepreneur in Nepal and the United States, as well as a former vice-president of the NRNA.

UNDO aims to empower the Nepali diaspora, foster mutual relationships and collaboration among Nepalis worldwide, and contribute to Nepal’s development through collective efforts and shared resources.

Newly appointed President Rajesh Pandey, a resident of Los Angeles, California, hails from Madanpur in Belkotgadhi Municipality, Nuwakot District, Nepal. He has long been active in business and social work in the United States, alongside his wife, two sons, and a daughter.

Pandey has resided in the U.S. since 2007 and operates multi-million dollar businesses through Pandey Group Inc. (general wholesale merchandise) and Pandey Group Investment (real estate).

Entrepreneur Pandey operates the three-star Hotel Kailashkuti on his own land—measuring 1 ropani and 10 aanas—in Thamel, Kathmandu’s tourism hub. With an investment of approximately NPR 1.5 billion, the hotel is currently in the process of obtaining four-star status.

Similarly, Pandey operates the Lotus Club—a facility equipped with state-of-the-art amenities—on his own two-Ropani plot of land in Manmaiju, Kathmandu.

Entrepreneur Pandey is a founding member of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce USA and serves as the coordinator of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Nepal Garment Association. He is also a Platinum member of the Shree Pashupatinath Foundation, based in the city of Norwalk, California, USA.

The International Committee of the United Nepali Diaspora Organization (UNDO) formally recognized UNDO USA as its national chapter on July 10, 2026. Concurrently with this recognition, Pandey was appointed as President. UNDO has announced plans to finalize the executive committee—representing the Nepali diaspora in the US—and advance the organization’s expansion in the near future.

Krishna Sanjel KC, General Secretary of the UNDO International Committee, has informed that national committees have already been recognized and established in Spain and Macau, while committees are currently being formed in Canada, Europe, Oceania, Asia, and the Middle East.
