President Trump announces executive order mandating voter ID

By Purushottam Dhakal, LOS ANGELES:-  President Donald Trump has announced that he will make it mandatory for every voter to show ID.  Trump has announced that he will issue an executive order requiring voters to show identification. Voter ID cards are not yet issued at the federal level in the United States.

Until now, election management has been the responsibility of state governments. Therefore, in some states, it is necessary to show an identity card to vote, while in others it is not required.

Writing on the social media platform Truth Social, President Trump said, “Other than security personnel and military personnel deployed overseas and far away, no one will be able to vote by mail.”

President Trump said on Truth Social, “Other than those who are sick, deployed overseas, and those in the military, they will not be able to vote by mail.”

President Trump has been claiming that his loss to Democratic nominee Joe Biden in 2020 was due to widespread fraud.

But legally, the president or the federal government does not have the constitutional authority to change state-level election rules. So it’s unclear how much impact Trump’s executive order will have on the voter ID mandate.

President Trump has long questioned the opaque American electoral system.
