Preliminary estimate of damage worth 387 billion rupees due to Bhote Koshi flood
KATHMANDU:- Nepal Government estimates that the floods in the Bhote Koshi River of Rasuwa on the 10th of Bhadra caused damage amounting to approximately Rs 400 billion.
During a regular briefing held here today by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the Authority’s Executive Chief, Dr. Dharma Raj Upreti, stated that preliminary estimates place the damage at Rs 387.54 billion. He noted that detailed information is still awaited.
He also stated that, according to preliminary estimates, NPR 7.95 billion is required for the initial rehabilitation of various sectors over a four-month period.
“This amount is estimated to be spent on the rehabilitation of sectors including buildings, settlements, communications, health, nutrition, education, agriculture and livestock, and energy,” he said.
