‘Government effortful to create investment-friendly environment in energy sector’

KATHMANDU:- Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has said that the government is working to create an investment friendly environment in the energy sector. 

In a meeting here in the ministry today in connection with the ‘Sudurpaschim Province Investment and Development Conference’ to be held in Dhangadhi on November 17 and 18, Minister shared that the Energy Ministry was prioritizing policy reform for the development of the energy sector.

Addressing the same event, Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah, shared that an investment conference is being organized for the development and prosperity of Sudurpashchim, urging everyone to participate in the conference.

“The investment conference is not only focused on investment, but we are also considering what can be done for the country in the coming days; we are sincerely working towards the development of the province and providing employment,” he said.

According to, Director General of the Electricity Development Department, Jiwachha Mandal currently, there are 108 hydropower projects with a total capacity of 8,241 megawatts progressing in some form in Sudurpaschim Province. (RSS)
