Possibility of moderate rainfall across the country on Saturday
KATHMANDU:- The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon low-pressure trough is positioned near its average location.
Generally cloudy conditions prevail in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, as well as in the remaining mountainous and hilly regions, while the weather in the Terai region ranges from partly cloudy to mainly clear. Light rain accompanied by thunder is occurring in some places within Bagmati Province. Light rain is also occurring in one or two locations across Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces.
According to the division, the weather across the country will remain generally cloudy this afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall in some places within the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Moderate rain is likely in many hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as in some hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Additionally, there is a possibility of moderate rain in some places across the Terai region.
The department has stated that there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places within the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
Similarly, the weather across the country will remain generally cloudy tonight, with a likelihood of moderate rain and snowfall in some places within the mountainous and hilly regions.
There is a possibility of moderate rain in some locations across the Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Madhesh, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rain is also possible in one or two places within the hilly regions of Karnali Province.
The Division has urged residents in the affected areas to exercise necessary caution, as heavy rainfall could increase the risk of debris flow, floods, landslides, and soil erosion. Vigilance is advised because daily life, agriculture, healthcare services, tourism, mountaineering, as well as road and air transport services, could be disrupted.
