PM Karki inaugurates 2nd NPL amidst grand ceremony in TU Cricket Ground

KATHMANDU:- Prime Minister Sushila Karki inaugurated the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) today amid a grand ceremony at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

National Sports Council (NSC) Member-Secretary Tankalal Ghishing, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) President Chatur Bahadur Chand, and other officials were present on the occasion.

The ceremony featured a flower shower from a helicopter.

The opening match is being played between the Kathmandu Gurkhas and Janakpur Bolts, the winner of the first NPL. Kathmandu Gurkhas won the toss and opted to field.

The League will run until December 13, with a total of eight teams in fray. The winner takes home Rs 11 millions, while the first runner-up receives Rs 5.1 million, the third-place team will get Rs 2.5 million. Rs 1.5 million will be awarded to the fourth-place team. (RSS)
