Voting Concludes at CPN-UML’s 11th National Congress, Results Expected Soon

KATHMANDU:- Voting at the 11th National Congress of the CPN-UML, which began on Wednesday morning, has concluded early this morning.

Of the 2,263 delegates eligible to vote, 36 were absent, resulting in a total of 2,227 votes cast.

According to UML Central Election Commission Vice-Chairman Sanuraj Pokharel, the results are expected to be announced within a few hours, as the voting was conducted electronically.

The voting process moved at a slow pace throughout the day.

Party chair KP Sharma Oli and senior leader Ishwor Pokharel are contesting as separate panels in the convention.

Overall, around 642 candidates are vying for 19 office-bearer posts and 301 seats on the party’s central committee.
