Nepali women cricket team heads towards Rwanda

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali Women Cricket Team has left here today for Rwanda to play the ICC Women Challenge Trophy championship to be held there.   

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bid farewell to the team, wishing them success.

The championship, to be held from April 18 to May 1, will see participation from Nepal, the USA, Vanuatu, and Italy, along with the hosts Rwanda.

Nepal is scheduled to play its first match against the United States on April 18, the second match against Italy on April 19, and the third match against Rwanda on April 22. Similarly, Nepal will play against Vanuatu on April 24, against the United States on April 26, against Rwanda on April 28, against Vanuatu on April 30, and against Italy on May 1.

The team that secures the top position in the competition, which will be conducted on the basis of a double round-robin league, will be declared the winner.

CAN has stated that the Nepali team includes captain Indu Verma, vice captain Pooja Mahto, along with Rubi Podar, Roma Thapa, Bindu Rawal, Rubina Chhetri, Kabita Joshi, Kabita Kunwar, Samjhana Khadka, Anu Kadayat, Suman Bista, Riya Sharma, Rachana Chaudhary and Manisha Upadhyay, with Harsal Pathak as the head coach.
