Nepali Congress suggested fostering peace as code of conduct

KATHMANDU:- The Nepali Congress (NC) has been suggested that it incorporated peace as an element of party code of conduct.

The Nepali Writers’ Association submitted an 11-point memorandum to Acting President of NC, Purna Bahadur Khadka, and suggested that the party fostered discipline, diligence, honesty and frugality. The Association proposed a code of conduct for the party leaders and cadres to reform its policy.

According to Association’s Secretary Narayan Sapkota, the NC was also reminded to protect the constitution with necessary amendments. NC’s efforts are imperative for strengthening federal democratic republic, he added.

Also suggested by the Association was keeping study and research away from undue political influence. “Further initiatives are essential for research, innovation and scientific study so that the country would get adequate intellect, researchers and scientists. But the political interference in the fields of academia, judiciary and administration are unwelcome,” the memorandum read.  (RSS)
