Nepali Congress General Convention will be held from January 10 to 12

KATHMANDU:-  The 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress is scheduled to be held from January 10 to 12. The Nepali Congress, which has been embroiled in a controversy over its general convention since October 14, has found a way out as per the instructions of President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

On Sunday, acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka prepared a proposal for the agenda as per the request of the party president through discussions with general secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, leader Ramesh Lekhak, and publicity department chief Min Bishwaparkama.

Acting President Khadka will present the proposal regarding the agenda at Monday’s Central Committee meeting. Sources have informed that the Acting President Khadka is going to present the consensus proposal as separate proposals were submitted by the General Secretary and the Joint General Secretary earlier.

Sources claim that the Acting President’s proposal is being submitted for construction, not discussion. An understanding has been reached that Acting President Khadka will hold further discussions with the necessary leaders and reach a unanimous resolution on the proposal.
