Nepali Congress concludes 3,396 ward conventions in 43 districts
KATHMANDU:- The Nepali Congress has concluded conventions in 3,396 wards across 43 districts today as part of the process for its 15th General Convention.
According to the party’s Central Election Committee, the 15th General Convention is scheduled to be held from Ashwin October 2 to 5, in accordance with the decision of the Central Working Committee. The ward-level convention process commenced today as part of this schedule.
The committee has stated that, under the election program, conventions have been concluded in 3,396 wards across the following districts: Taplejung, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, Dhankuta, Solukhumbu, Udayapur, Jhapa, Morang, Mahottari, Ramechhap, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Gorkha, Kaski, Manang, Parbat, Syangja, Baglung, Nawalpur, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Rukum East, Rolpa, Pyuthan, Rukum West, Dolpa, Jumla, Mugu, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Surkhet, Doti, Achham, Darchula, Baitadi, Kanchanpur, and Kailali.
Ward working committees and regional representatives have been selected through the ward conventions concluded today. The Congress has stated that the ward conventions have kicked off with great enthusiasm.
According to the schedule published by the Central Election Committee, ward conventions will continue tomorrow—September 20—in 31 districts, excluding Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading.
The Congress’s 15th General Convention is scheduled to be held from October 2 to 5. Prior to that, conventions at the ward, regional, and district levels will be concluded.
