Nepali boxer Aviral Ghimire wins ‘Hit Kick Boxing-59’ World Championship title
KATHMANDU:- In the history of kickboxing, young Nepali boxer Aviral Ghimire—known as the ‘Himalayan Leopard’—has once again achieved historic success.
In the main event of the ‘Hit Kickboxing-59’ World Championship—sanctioned by the International Kickboxing Federation—held this evening at Kariya Hall in Nagoya, Japan, the ‘Himalayan Leopard’ made history by defeating French kickboxer Nathan Chouinard via knockout. His opponent, Chouinard, is the 2025 World Champion.
In the second minute of the second round, boxer Ghimire landed a powerful punch to defeat his opponent, Choinard, by knockout.
Having participated in 29 international competitions to date, he is the only Nepali athlete to have secured 21 victories—20 of which were achieved via knockout. Boxer Ghimire has emerged as a shining star for Nepal, elevating the nation’s identity on the global stage through the sport of kickboxing and embodying the country’s pride, courage, and honor.
After his victory, boxer Ghimire expressed his sorrow over the irreparable loss of life and property caused by the recent Bhote Koshi floods in Rasuwa and announced plans to provide assistance to the victims. He also extended his gratitude to everyone who has supported his sporting career.
