Nepal enters semifinals of SAFF Championship defeating Sri Lanka  

KATHMANDU:- Nepal has entered the semifinals of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2026 from its group by defeating Sri Lanka in the match played at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in India’s Goa today. 

Nepal won the match over Sri Lanka 2-0 and emerged as the winner of Group ‘A’. Nepal won two games played against Bhutan and Sri Lanka.

With the victory today, Nepal and Bhutan advanced to the semifinals of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2026 from Group ‘A’ following Nepal’s win over Sri Lanka. For Nepal, Rasmi Kumar Ghising and Renuka Nagarkoti scored one goal each. Sri Lanka could not advance to the semifinals as it lost the match today.
