Nepal defeats Hong Kong by 119 runs

KATHMANDU:- Nepal has defeated Hong Kong by 119 runs in the ongoing ACC U19 Premier Cup in the United Arab Emirates.     

This is the second victory of Nepal in the ongoing Premier Cup. Chasing the 271-run victory target posted by Nepal, Hong Kong was limited to 151 runs in 40.5 overs.

For Hong Kong, Captain Shiv Mathur made the highest 30 runs. Towards bowling, Nepal’s Aprajit Poudel took four wickets while Captain Ashok Dhami three wickets.

Earlier, batting first after winning the toss in Ajman Ground, Nepal made 270 runs in 50 overs at the loss of seven wickets.

Captain Ashok Dhami collected the highest 73 runs while Darsha Sonar 45 runs (not out), Dilsad Ali 36 runs. Hong Kong’s Abhimanyu Ganesan and Deniel Mapp took two wickets each. Captain Dhami became the ‘player of the match’ today.

Earlier, Nepal had defeated Saudi Arabia by eight wickets in its first match. Out of 14 teams—winner, first-runner up and second-runner up would be selected for the Asia Cup.
