Nepal Consul General explores cooperation with Wyoming leadership

San Francisco:- Nepal’s Consul General in San Francisco, Lakshuman Khanal, held a series of meetings in Wyoming, focusing on expanding cooperation between Nepal and the U.S. state.

During a courtesy call in Riverton on April 24, he met Governor Mark Gordon and discussed collaboration in areas including agriculture, tourism, higher education, climate change, and mountain conservation.

Khanal also attended the Central Wyoming Innovation & Entrepreneurship Conference 2026 at Central Wyoming College, where he engaged with officials and participants on strengthening economic and academic ties.

In Laramie, he met Ed Seidel of the University of Wyoming to discuss expanding university partnerships, student exchange, and research collaboration. He also addressed students and faculty, highlighting Nepal’s development priorities and opportunities.

Around 70 Nepali students are currently studying at the University of Wyoming. An interaction programme with the Nepali student community focused on consular services and diaspora engagement.
