NCP leader Shahi appointed fifth Chief Minister of Karnali Province

Shahi assumed the role of Chief Minister in accordance with the power-sharing agreement between the NCP and the UML, under which the NCP was to hold the position of Chief Minister for Karnali Province.

SURKHET:- Mangal Bahadur Shahi, the leader of the NCP parliamentary party, has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Karnali Province. Province Chief Yagya Raj Joshi appointed Shahi as the fifth Chief Minister of Karnali Province today.

Province Chief Joshi appointed Shahi as Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168, Clause (2) of the Constitution of Nepal. Shahi, who also serves as the parliamentary party leader of the NCP, was appointed Chief Minister with the support of 14 Provincial Assembly members from the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and 10 from the CPN-UML.

Bhimraj Thani, spokesperson for the Office of the Provincial Chief, stated that Provincial Chief Joshi appointed Shahi as Chief Minister based on the decisions of both parties and the support of a majority of members. Shahi assumed the role of Chief Minister in accordance with the power-sharing agreement between the NCP and the UML, under which the NCP was to hold the position of Chief Minister for Karnali Province.
