National Table Tennis Championship medalists depart for Thailand

KATHMANDU:- Medal-winning players from the 7th ETT Table Tennis Tournament and the 42nd National Table Tennis Tournament departed for Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday.

Mahesh Shrestha, Diksha Dahal, and Ranoj Thaku—gold medalists in the team event of the ETT Table Tennis Tournament (organized by the Entertainment Table Tennis group)—and Alex Maharjan—a silver medalist at the 42nd National Table Tennis Tournament—have left for Thailand.

ETT had announced a five-day Bangkok tour package for the members of the gold-winning table tennis team and the gold and silver medalists of the 42nd National Table Tennis Championship. The package was awarded to the players in accordance with that announcement. However, Sanyog Kapali—a gold medalist at the 42nd National Table Tennis Championship—was in Seoul, South Korea, for overseas training ahead of the 20th Asian Games; consequently, only Alex traveled to Bangkok.

ETI President Suman Khadgi, along with Rajendra Bajracharya (winner of the sixth edition of the ETI Table Tennis tournament), Anita Maharjan, Mukesh Maharjan, and others, bade farewell to the player at Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday.

President Khadgi expressed his belief that this opportunity would prove fruitful for the player to rest in a different environment.
