Moderate rainfall, windstorms likely in some places

KATHMANDU:- Nepal at present is under the partial influence of westerly winds and local winds.   

Currently there are generally clouds in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces and partly cloudy conditions in the remaining provinces, the Weather Forecasting Division informed.

In a few areas of Gandaki province, and in one or two areas of Lumbini and Koshi provinces, there is moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning.

Generally cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Koshi provinces this afternoon. Likewise, partly cloudy conditions will prevail in the remaining hilly, mountainous, and Terai regions, according to the Division.

There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi province, in a few places of the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, in the hilly and mountainous areas of Sudurpashchim province, and in one or two places of Madhesh province. Hailstorm is also likely to take place in a few areas of Madhesh, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, generally cloudy conditions will prevail in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Koshi provinces, and partly cloudy conditions in the remaining hilly and Terai regions.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall and snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning in a few areas of Koshi province and in some hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

The Division has indicated possibility of windstorms in a few areas of the Terai in Madhesh and Lumbini provinces.(RSS)
