Mexican immigrant dies after being shot by ICE agent in Houston

HOUSTON:- According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, federal immigration enforcement agents shot and killed a Mexican immigrant in Houston on Tuesday.

According to an agency spokesperson, during a targeted enforcement operation in the East End neighborhood of Texas City shortly before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Lorenzo Salgado-Araujo allegedly attempted to evade arrest by ICE agents and used his vehicle as a weapon in an attempt to run over an agent.

According to the spokesperson, the agent fired his weapon in self-defense, and Salgado Araujo was taken to the hospital, where he died.
