Milwaukee City to ban ICE masks
Similar laws have been implemented in California, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Virginia, while cities such as Philadelphia have adopted their own ordinances.
MILWAUKEE:- The City of Milwaukee has banned masks worn by ICE agents. This move by the city is the latest effort to require ICE agents to reveal their identities.
Milwaukee has accused ICE and federal agents of violating its new ordinance banning masks that conceal their identities, while the Department of Justice has stated that ICE will not comply with the city’s order.
The Department of Justice has declared this Milwaukee order unconstitutional and has given city officials until Friday to provide assurances that it will not be enforced.
Similar laws have been implemented in California, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Virginia, while cities such as Philadelphia have adopted their own ordinances.
The Department of Justice has challenged those orders in court, arguing that cities cannot regulate federal officials.
