DHS task force arrests ten sex trafficking suspects in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES:- Homeland Security task force, (HSI) has arrested ten suspects during an operation targeting gang-run sex trafficking in the city of Los Angeles.

The task force claims that most of the arrested suspects are members of the Hoover Criminals gang and were involved in the sex trade along the Figueroa Corridor in Los Angeles.

Agencies have identified at least 51 victims. The suspects are accused of targeting runaways—including children from the foster care system—for sex trafficking. Some of the identified victims are as young as 14.

Ten suspects will be prosecuted on federal charges related to sex trafficking, money laundering, firearms offenses, and drug crimes. Those arrested are repeat offenders with histories that include robbery, kidnapping, and theft.

DHS Assistant Secretary Lauren Bisse stated, “Ten suspects involved in a sex trafficking ring were arrested during an operation in Los Angeles. They will face federal charges, including sex trafficking, money laundering, firearms offenses, and drug crimes.”
