Mayor Dangol at Cannes Film Festival, promoting Kathmandu Film Festival through red carpet catwalk

KATHMANDU:- Kathmandu Metropolitan City Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol is set to participate in the world-famous Cannes Film Festival in France.

Mayor Dangol going to France with the aim of formally announcing the Kathmandu Film Festival to be organized by the Metropolitan City and promoting it internationally.

Informing the executive meeting about the visit, Acting Mayor Dangol said that the main agenda of his visit is to promote the film festival being organized by the Metropolitan City worldwide.

As a preparation for the international festival, the Metropolitan City is also preparing to organize a ‘Tol Tolma Film Festival’ at the local level. According to Dangol, this program will be completely community-based.

This campaign aims to reach the tole level and discuss various issues related to film, music and the overall creative industry and create an environment in the form of a festival. It is believed that this will create a positive atmosphere for the upcoming ‘Kathmandu Film Festival’.

Mayor Dangol said, “The main objective of participating in the Cannes Film Festival is to organize the Kathmandu Film Festival and to advance our creative industry as a festival and create momentum as a study tour.”
