Foreign Minister Khanal hold meeting with Indian counterpart Jaishankar in New Delhi

KATHMANDU:- Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal and his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar held a bilateral meeting in New Delhi, India, this evening.

Minister Khanal shared a video on his Facebook account about the meeting with his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar.

During the bilateral meeting, Minister Khanal stated Nepal’s new government carries a clear mandate for good governance, economic transformation and result-driven diplomacy.

“We carry no old baggage; only a firm resolve to build a genuinely transformative relationship with our close neighbour and most important partner,” he added. According to Minister Khanal, Nepal has placed the highest priority on its relationship with India.

“Under the new government, we are ready to engage substantively, purposefully and at the highest possible levels,” he added during the meeting.

On the occasion, issues of bilateral trade, investment, connectivity network, energy and people-to-people relations were also discussed.

Foreign Minister Khanal is currently in New Delhi on a three-day official visit at the friendly invitation of his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar. He reached Delhi on Friday and is scheduled to return home tomorrow. RSS
