Ellen DeGeneres hinted at a return to television
LOS ANGELES:- Ellen DeGeneres may be preparing for a return to television, four years after *The Ellen DeGeneres Show* concluded its long run. Hinting at a potential comeback, the television host admitted that she misses being on screen. The comedian also mentioned that she has considered creating a new show in the UK.
During a rare appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ alongside guests Quentin Tarantino, Colin Farrell, and Gemma Chan, Ellen joked that she had nothing to promote on the show. “I don’t really have anything going on, and I just really miss being on TV,” the comedian said.
“I remember a lot about it. I remember laughing with the writers every day. I remember the guests. I remember kissing Colin,” she added, referring to a recurring segment on *The Ellen DeGeneres Show* between Ellen and actor Colin Farrell.
In 2024, Ellen moved to the UK with her wife, Portia de Rossi, and has since largely stayed away from regular television appearances. However, her recent remarks have sparked speculation about a potential return to the small screen. Joking about how easy it is to land a show on British television, she pointed to programs focused on activities like pottery, sewing, and watching television.
“I think it’s very easy to get on TV here,” Ellen said. She even came up with a tongue-in-cheek title for a potential show about mowing the lawn—calling it *Lawn & Order*. While this suggestion was in line with her signature brand of humor, DeGeneres confirmed that she is, in fact, working on a real television project.
Ellen DeGeneres concluded ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ in 2022, after a 19-season run. In 2020, the comedian and host faced allegations of a toxic work environment, for which she repeatedly apologized to her staff. An internal investigation led to changes behind the scenes. Amidst the controversy, Ellen also offered apologies to staff members.
