DT Fest 2026 concludes: Nearly 10,000 participants in Esburn, Virginia
VIRGINIA:- DT Fest 2026,’ held in Ashburn, Virginia, USA, has concluded with great success. Approximately 10,000 Nepalis and local residents attended the cultural festival, which was organized to celebrate the major Nepali festivals of Bada Dashain and Tihar.
There was a large turnout of visitors at the event venue, which opened to the public at 12:00 PM. Among the various commercial and cultural stalls at the festival, the Nepali Embassy’s stall held a special presence. Additionally, the display of a Newa chariot—reflecting Newa culture—and the traditional ‘Pulu Kisi’ (elephant dance) performance emerged as the main attractions of the event. Participants enjoyed themselves by flying kites and playing carrom board, activities that evoked the spirit of the Dashain and Tihar festivals.
Cultural dances performed by children were featured during the stage program, which officially began at 1:00 PM. A momo-eating contest, held prior to the musical performances, generated additional excitement among the audience. The ‘Gorilla Dance,’ presented especially for the children, was highly appreciated by the audience across all age groups.
Renowned Nepali artists performed at the musical concert held in the evening; the band ‘Moksha Mantra’ kicked off the event with an energetic performance. Popular singer Samiksha Adhikari had the audience dancing as she performed her hit songs.
Singer Shiva Pariyar mesmerized the audience with his melodious *sugam sangeet* and powerful vocals. At the conclusion of the event, the popular rock band Mukti and Revival brought the festival to a grand close with an electrifying performance.
As the weather remained clear and pleasant throughout the day, participants fully enjoyed the festival without any hindrance. This festival has made a significant contribution to promoting Nepali art, culture, and traditions in the United States.
