Convention should be made a success: General Secretary Thapa

KATHMANDU:- General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has said he was not hankering after post but for making the special general convention (SGC) a success.

Addressing the second day of the closed session of the SGC on Tuesday, General Secretary Thapa made it clear that SGC was not organized for securing any post. “In a democracy, questions count. Questioning itself is a rebellion in internal democracy, while remaining silence is jeopardizing identity,” he made it clear.

He admitted that the party is plagued not by faction but by the cabal, so it requires change. Thapa urged everyone not be swayed after the rumours made outside.

“I’m not running after baseless rumours, so you too should stay away from it,” he said, reminding that the mandate given by this SGC hall should be recognized.

The agreements made outside are relevant when they are owned up by SGC and the participants in it, according to him.
