Constitution amendment task force makes final preparations to submit report by mid-July
KATHMANDU:- The task force formed to prepare a discussion paper on constitution amendments is making final preparations to submit its report to the government by July 16, following the completion of the drafting process.
Rastriya Swatantra Party MP and task force member Mohan Lal Acharya said the report incorporates suggestions from political parties, stakeholders and the public, including around 44700 submissions from Nepalis at home and abroad.
The task force was initially given three months to prepare the discussion paper, with the deadline extended twice by the government.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Communist Party, Janata Samajwadi Party and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party have withdrawn from the task force, informing it that they will no longer participate in its meetings.
Task force coordinator Asim Shah claimed the parties had not raised any objections during the first 83 days of the drafting process.
