ANO National Conference concluded in Carlisle, Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA:- Nepal’s acting ambassador to the United States, Sharad Raj Aran, has expressed the view that people of Nepali origin scattered around the world should be given an identity as Nepalis.

Addressing the national conference of the Association of Nepali Origin (ANO) in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, USA, on Saturday evening, he asserted that the Nepali community can make a great contribution to the development and prosperity of Nepal.

Ambassador Aran made this statement after ANO Central Chairman Dilli Adhikari expressed the view that the Nepal government should recognize people of Nepali origin who are ready to contribute to Nepal’s prosperity.

Chairman Adhikari expressed the view that people of Nepali origin who have migrated from Nepal are ready to contribute to every sector of Nepal as representatives of the Nepali nation, but the Nepali government should be ready to give its own descendants a Nepali identity.

At the event, Dr. Damodar Poudel, Honorary Consul of Nepal to the State of Ohio, USA, expressed his belief that ANO’s campaign to connect people of Nepali ethnicity with Nepal has gained momentum and will contribute to the prosperity of Nepal.

ANO General Secretary Chudamani Bhattarai announced the formation of a 21-member US National Committee under the chairmanship of Dr. Bhuvan Gautam.

Dr. Sanju Mahato has been elected as the vice-chairman of the committee, Vivek Poudel as the secretary, Chandra Parajuli as the joint secretary, Trishna Chimoriya as the treasurer, Sabya Bista as the assistant treasurer, and Keshab Acharya as the speaker.

Similarly, the members include Subodh Ghimire, Poonam Dulal, Ransingh Magar, Gandaki Putra, Deepak Jung Vishwakarma, Dr. John Magar, Dr. Rishi Bastakoti, Ganga Basnet, Yuvakratna Tuladhar, Ram Shrestha, Shrishti Rai, Manoj Joshi, TB Gurung, Nisha Gurung.

Similarly, the National Delegate Committee includes Upendra Luitel, Rupesh Upreti, Keshab Poudel, Melina Moktan, Man Neupane, Muskan Balampaki Magar, Tamanna Gurung, Bikash Ghale, Nabin Bhattarai, Abhishesh Thapa, Renu Neupane, Madhav Pokhrel, Laxmi Sangraula and Ghanshyam Rasaili have been selected.

The newly elected commissioner of Swatara Township, Binita Puri Rai, of Nepali origin, was honored at the event.
